5. Apr 19, 2014. #1. I have an Autotrail 630S on a 2001 Fiat Ducato 2.8JTD. The battery charging light is staying on. I have had the alternator tested and it has been verified as working. The alternator was removed and bench tested. It was replaced and all connections cleaned. The charging light is still on.I have a 1998 2.5 tdi ducato with a faulty temp erature gauge and warning light. The sensor seams to be the fault as when either wire that goes to the sensor is shorted to earth then the gauge or the light operates. The sensors supplied by the fiat garage are not the same as is fitted and do not work when fitted. If turned off engine will start on first crank for up to approx 10mins but after that reverts to 2nd crank starting. Fault code P0191 fuel level pressure sensor circuit returns even after clearing code. Have renewed fuel filter and cut open old one and it was spotless, checked for fuel leaks and electrical conns.
Hymer on Fiat Ducato - engine temperature. Our B544 (2002) with the 2.8JTD engine takes a very long time to warm up and the temperature never goes above 1/4. Our friend with a similar Hymer (a bit older and larger - no! The Hymer, not the friend!) also sees the same thing. The Fiat handbook shows the temperature coming up to normal (1/2 way).
