Running with a friend who had just bought the Mudclaw 275 got me thinking that if the inov-8 Roclite were so comfortable then surely inov-8 trail running shoes were the most suited to me and the Mudclaw would be the ideal solution. I order a pair and went straight into a long run of 15 miles without breaking them in.
The soles are proper Mudclaw soles. Fantastic grip in the mud, on grass, and around all kinds of fell terrain. Not great on wet rock, (I'm still waiting for that scientific breakthrough!), and the compound feels very flexible when you run on harder surfaces- I wonder just how long the grip is going to last.

They are very good in sticky mud and don’t appear to clog too badly; downhill, they are exceptionally grippy. They also have a tough protective rubber toe cap that is very reassuring when running on stony or rocky terrain.
